The small speckled Chroma bowl is a beautiful hand-thrown terracotta bowl that has been hand painted with a colourful spatter pattern in dark and light green. At 9cm in diameter the small bowls can be used for anything from starters, sauces and cooking bowls to puddings, ice cream and snacks.
Designed by Casa Cubista, Chroma is a bold and colourful tableware collection that brings together traditional craftsmanship with contemporary designs. The ceramics range is all made in the coastal town of Olhao in Portugal by a family that been in the pottery business for 200 years. Ruis throws the pottery on his wheel before it is hand painted by his aunt Regina.
This small, colourful, ceramic bowl with a green spatter pattern on a white background makes a nice change to the standard designs usually seen in tableware. Before first use, wash the bowl with hot soapy water, rinse well and allow to air dry. To maintain the integrity of the bowl (i.e. glaze and colour) it is not recommended that it is used in a dishwasher or microwave. As each piece is handmade there may be slight changes in each piece and slight colour variations, which is indicative of the material and the handmade process. Some marks in the glaze are natural and expected, as is some crazing. This will not affect the use or durability of the bowl.
