Design Inspiration: The Loft House, Bergaliv, Sweden

Escapism with a view in Northern Sweden is exactly what the Loft House in Bergaliv provides. A modern day stylish tree house for adults is the best way to describe this architectural project. Designed by Architect, Hanna Michelson from Swedish, Stockholm based, architectural firm Tham & Videgård . The Loft House consists of two rooms measuring 14sqm sitting on top of each other. The rooms are then raised of the ground using a timber framework, creating a lodge in the trees. The land on which the Loft House stands was bought by Staffan Michelson a couple of years ago when he was looking to buy some woodland in his ancestors´ Hälsingland and he then named the land Bergaliv. The Loft House is the first of four planned spaces to be built on the land to create getaway spaces for guests. The space has a very natural finish without being rustic. Futon beds are hung on the wall allowing the small space on the lower level to be used as both a bedroom and a living space. They allow the guest complete flexibility to be used as a reading lamp, table lamp or bedside lamp as needed. The upper level of the Loft House is laid completely bare, allowing the visitor to see only the view and feel the sense of elevation as you sit amongst the tree tops. An ideal spot to spend some time doing absolutely nothing.
