Ceramic Table Lamp by Laura Huston

These beautiful and unique ceramic table lamps are hand thrown and painted by ceramicist, Laura Huston in her Norfolk studio. An original and stunning design, the lamp looks fantastic and makes a real impact whether you wish to put it in a bedroom, kitchen, hallway or sitting room. The ceramic lamps epitomise the beauty and individuality of handmade goods. Each one is slightly unique in its shape and colourings, adding to their rustic charm and character. Laura uses a technique called, Sgraffito to add the pattern design to her work. Sgraffito involves the carving of a pattern into the "slip" to reveal the natural clay colour beneath. The slip being the liquid mixture of clay that Laura hand paints on to the leather-like hard clay before the first bisque fire and the addition of a semi-matt transparent glaze. Needless to say, there is a great deal of craftsmanship and work that goes into the making of each of these beautiful handmade table lamps. Made exclusively for Such & Such, the design of the lamp features a unique shape with a beautiful pattern. Laura's work explores subtle variations of form, pattern and colour taking inspiration from pieces of antiquity as well as from everyday life.**Please note, the lamps shade pictured is not included**.
