Wooden Bowl - Sycamore by Such and Such

This handmade Sycamore bowl has beautiful golden tones to its otherwise pale colour and subtle grain. As with all of the wooden bowls, this is a unique one-off piece. The bowl can either be kept as a display bowl to look at and admire or used as a place for keeping your wallet, watch, jewellery and other everyday carry items or trinkets.

The bowl features a thick 2cm curved wall and measures 23cm in diameter by 7cm in height. It was turned by hand on a lathe and finely sanded to provide an extremely smooth tactile finish. The bowl is then coated in a food-safe Danish Oil, made up predominantly of Tung Oil, to help protect the wood.

An example of handmade British craftsmanship, this special piece will look fantastic on a side cabinet, shelving, tabletop or kitchen side, whether in a contemporary or traditional home. It will also make an ideal gift. The bowl was designed and handmade by Alastair Matthews in his workshop near Saffron Walden, Essex.
