Leather Wallet by Such & Such

The Leather Wallet by Such & Such is a slim bifold wallet made from beautiful vegetable tanned leather. With a dislike of large bulky wallets, our wallet was designed so that it easily slips into your pocket and doesn't look like you are carrying a brick. Each card slot can take either one or two cards, allowing you to carry between six and twelve cards, depending on needs. We also removed the additional piece of leather traditionally used to separate the sleeve for notes and receipts. This makes the wallet slimmer and means the notes are more visible and easily removable by simply swiping up with your thumb.

As well as making sure the leather goods were practical, we wanted to make sure they looked incredible, were well made and environmentally considered. Therefore, the choice of leather and how the wallets are made was extremely important. The main aim of the aesthetics was to focus on the natural beauty of leather. We chose a top grain vegetable tanned leather that is tanned for 60 days in a tannery that is Gold Medallion Rated by the Leather Working Group, an international organisation whose mission is to promote sustainable and environmental practices within the leather industry. Vegetable tanning is the least environmentally impactful tanning process as it utilises the tannic acids naturally found in some trees and plants rather than the harmful chemicals used in the more popular, faster and cheaper, chromium tanning process. Whilst much more expensive, veg tanning also results in rich natural colours, warm tones, high durability and strength, plus that famous leather smell and all-important patina.

The final stage in making our luxury wallets comes down to the traditional skills of artisans in Leon, Mexico an area renowned for its leather craftsmanship. Our handmade leather wallets are made for men and women that appreciate design, the thoughtful use of materials and craftsmanship.
