Throws - Cashmere and Lambswool

Soft furnishings can bring a room to life, adding colour and texture to give the space a more homely feel. Not only do throws provide aesthetic appeal, but they also offer practical applications around the home too. We love using bold colours to add life to neutral spaces and brighten up dark corners of the home or draped over the corner of the sofa to decorate and give personality to a room.

Looking after your throw

If you’re investing in beautiful, quality materials, you want them to last you for years to come. To ensure your throws remain soft and cosy we recommend proper care for your blankets by following a few key tips for washing, drying and storing them.

Washing and drying

  • Handwashing is the gentlest and safest way to wash and is our top recommendation.
  • Care for your blankets by using warm water and a specific wool-wash product.
  • When washing, gently squeeze the suds without stretching or ringing the fabric to avoid loss of shape.
  • Rinse with warm water, repeating as required until the water runs clear.
  • Avoid exposure to cold water as it will constrict the fibres.
  • Dry by gently pressing out the water and laying on a clean, try towel. Roll the towel and gently squeeze out excess water, remembering not to twist.
  • Unroll and smooth flat to allow air drying, do not hang as it can cause your product to become misshapen.

You can dry clean your cashmere and merino wool products, which can deter moths as they don’t like the chemical smell, however, this can affect the super-soft feel of your throws.

Fold your blankets if you are storing them, ensuring they are flat to avoid loss of shape, and if storing for long periods seal in a plastic box to avoid moths. Always clean your blankets before storing as stains can oxidise and become permanent in storage. If you follow these tips, your blankets and throws should keep your home looking well-dressed for years.
